Man nabbed for gun running in Marikina City

MANILA, Philippines — A man was arrested for gunrunning during a sting in Marikina City Monday.

An Ingram sub-machine gun, a 9mm pistol and a sachet of shabu were reportedly confiscated from Ramoncito Calilap, 27, said Senior Superintendent Roger Quesada, Marikina police chief.

Calilap is also allegedly involved in robberies in Marikina and Pasig, Quesada said.

An undercover police officer arranged the purchase of an Ingram pistol from Calilap for P25,000 along Bagong Silang street in Barangay Nangka at around 9:30 p.m.

Calilap, who denied the allegations against him, could not show any documents for the confiscated firearms.
