MANILA, Philippines — The major train lines in the metro recently announced stoppage of operations in observance of Holy Week.

The halt in operations was also to give way to maintenance works for LRT-1 and LRT-2 as well as the MRT-3. The Philippine National Railways has yet to release its operation schedule for the holidays.
Malacañang earlier declared March 29 (Maundy Thursday) and March 30 (Good Friday) as regular non-working holidays.

Here is the train schedule for the Holy Week:

LRT-1

  • March 29 (Maundy Thursday) to April 1 (Easter Sunday) – Closed

  • April 2 (Monday) – Regular service resumes at 4:30 a.m.

LRT-2

 

  • March 28 (Holy Wednesday) – Last commercial train departure time is at 10 p.m. for Santolan (westbound); 10:30 p.m. for Recto (eastbound)

  • March 29 (Maundy Thursday) to April 1 (Easter Sunday) – Closed

  • April 2 (Monday) – Regular service resumes at 5 a.m.

MRT-3

  • March 26 (Holy Monday) to March 27 (Holy Tuesday) – Normal operations

  • March 28 (Holy Wednesday) to April 1 (Easter Sunday) – Closed

  • April 2 (Monday) – Normal operations resume
