31 held for drugs in Quezon City, Manila

MANILA, Philippines — At least 31 persons, including 10 minors, were arrested for illegal drugs in Quezon City and Manila since Thursday.

In Quezon City, Juanito Constantino, 54; Joemar Dubria, 41; Jerry Bares, 32, and a 15-year-old girl were arrested in Barangay Baesa at around 11 p.m.

Fifteen grams of shabu, with a street value of P75,000, were reportedly seized from the suspects.

Jonkerch Cullera, 27, and Romeo Maldo, 25, were arrested in a follow-up operation in Barangay Bahay Toro at around 5 a.m. yesterday.

Police reportedly seized from the suspects 13 sachets of shabu, with an estimated street value of P100,000, and a vehicle they allegedly used for their drug deals.

Arnold Valentin, 48, and Larry Ilarina, 56, were reportedly caught with 21 sachets of shabu, valued at P21,000, during a sting in Barangay Roxas.

John Paul del Castillo, 27; Marlon Viola, 39, and Dennis Maigue, 38, were arrested in a sting in Barangay Pasong Putik.

Drug surrenderees Melvin John Longabela, 22, and Bobby Rubio, 27, were caught in a separate sting in Barangay E. Rodriguez. Six sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia were reportedly seized from the suspects.

Efren Concepcion, 40 and Alexander Bonoan, 41, were reportedly caught using shabu in Barangay San Martin de Porres.

Jomar Cuarez, 25; Reymund De Guzman, 50, and Jane Obsequio, 23, were also allegedly caught using shabu in Barangay Loyola Heights. 

In Barangay Tagumpay, Reynaldo Macasaet, 43; Nelson Dadiz, 35, and Charita Baldono, 40, were reportedly caught with five sachets of shabu during a sting.

In Manila, at least nine minors and two teenagers were arrested after they were caught allegedly using marijuana at the foot of a bridge along Lacson Avenue Thursday night.

Among those arrested were Christian Sicat and Michael Quinlet, both 18. The minors ranged in age from 12 to 16. 

Police recovered a sachet of marijuana and several drug paraphernalia. -With Rey Galupo
