Mechanic parking client’s car shot dead
MANILA, Philippines — A mechanic was killed just as he was parking a client’s car in Quezon City on Saturday night.
Emelito Andales, 49, was gunned down in front of a car repair shop along Kalayaan Avenue in Barangay Central at around 8:30 a.m.
A witness told police he was working in the shop when he heard a lone gunshot from the outside.
When he went out to verify, he saw Andales slumped in the driver’s seat, his head bleeding.
Probers said the attack was caught on surveillance footage, wherein the assailant was seen approaching the vehicle Andales was driving and shooting the victim.
The assailant fled toward Mayaman street on a motorcycle driven by a cohort.
Andales died at the scene from a gunshot wound in the left temple. The bullet exited through his right ear.
Recovered at the crime scene was a fired .45 caliber bullet casing and a bullet.
