PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa holds surprise inspection at Crame
MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa yesterday conducted a surprise inspection of some police units in Camp
Crame offering frontline services.
Dela Rosa visited the Police Community Relations Groups (PCRG), Supervisory Office on Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA) and Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO).
He checked if police officers were at their respective posts and addressing the needs of people.
At the SOSIA, Dela Rosa warned police officers they will be held accountable if they are lazy or accept bribes.
“The Counter-Intelligence Task Force (CITF) will conduct the necessary counter actions to discipline our police officers,” he said.
Dela Rosa formed the CITF early last year against police scalawags ruining the reputation of the PNP organization.
He also inspected the ques of people seeking applying and renewing licenses of their firearms at the FEO. He chatted with some applicants and asked if they are being treated properly by the police.
Dela Rosa laughed when some people told him he should run for senator in the 2019 midterm elections.
He warned the police officers present not to extort money from people or they will face dismissal from the service.
“I will not hesitate to remove you from the service. That's for certain,” he said. “That's a fair warning to everyone, we mean business.”
Dela Rosa said he was satisfied with what he saw in his inspections.
