132 Chinese held for telecom fraud

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union  , Philippines  —  At least 132 Chinese citizens were arrested in simultaneous raids in San Vicente, Ilocos Sur yesterday for alleged telecommunications fraud. 

Operatives of the Ilocos Sur police, Anti-Cyber Crime Group, Special Action Force, Bureau of Immigration and Chinese law enforcers collared the suspects in the compound of a certain Cherry Forges, at a warehouse of a certain Jack Chan and a building in Barangay Nagtupacan.

Senior Superintendent Jovencio Badua, Ilocos Sur police director, said various types of telephones, routers, computers, laptops, SIM cards, washing machines, generators and documents were recovered from the suspects. 

The suspects are alleged members of a syndicate victimizing people from China.
