5 bike riders die in road mishaps

TUGUEGARAO, Cagayan, Philippines — Five persons died in road accidents involving motorcycles in the Ilocos region and Batangas in the past two days.

The motorcycles driven by Reggie Boy Dalan, 18, and Cipriano Calapao collided along the Colo-Mabaleng road in Barangay Colo, Batac, Ilocos Norte shortly after midnight yesterday.

At around the same time, the motorcycle of Alimar Valoria, 16, rammed a concrete fence in Barangay Guimod Sur, San Juan, Ilocos Sur. 

The motorcycle driven by security guard Robert Obejas, 29, was hit by a tricycle in Barangay Poblacion Este, Santa also in Ilocos Sur at around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday.

In Batangas, Mark Anthony Ona, 24, was on his way home to Barangay Pinatung-ulan in San Jose when his motorcycle crashed into a tricycle along Balagtasin road after midnight yesterday.
