Wanted NPA leader nabbed in Misamis Occidental

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Police intelligence units have arrested an alleged leader of the New People’s Army in Misamis Occidental who is facing a string of charges, including murder and rebellion.
Chief Superintendent Billy Beltran, Police Regional Office 9 director, identified the suspect as Antonio Anding, a former secretary of NPA’s Front Committee Joji of the Western Mindanao Revolutionary Party Committee. Anding allegedly also uses the nom de guerre Commander Brix.
Beltran said Anding was arrested in his hideout in Barangay National on Sunday by intelligence personnel backed by the local police of Jimenez, Misamis Occidental and of Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur.
Beltran said the NPA leader is a resident of Tambulig town, where he has seven warrants of arrest for charges of rebellion, murder, frustrated murder, attempted murder and robbery in band.
He was brought to the Jimenez police station for documentation and then transferred to the custody of the Molave police.
