Boy, 11, beaten to death

BACOLOD CITY , Philippines  – The body of an 11-year-old boy, who was reportedly beaten to death, was found in Victorias City, Negros Occidental on Friday.

Mark Anton Bilode was found in Hacienda Pusa, Barangay 20, according to city police chief Superintendent German Garbosa.

Citing medical reports, Garbosa said the boy died from head injuries.

The victim was last seen on Thursday running errands for his mother. He failed to return home.

Probers recovered several pairs of slippers from the area where the body was found.

Police expressed belief the body was dumped in the area to mislead the investigation.

Garbosa said probers have identified a suspect, but withheld his name pending the filing of charges.
