Tropical depression may enter PAR tonight

MANILA, Philippines — A tropical depression located east of Visayas is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Monday night or early Tuesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

 

The tropical depression will be named "Dante" once it enters PAR, the weather bureau added.

 

As of 10 a.m. on Monday, the tropical depression is located at 1,540 kilometers east of Visayas.

 

It packs maximum sustained winds of up to 45 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 60 kph.

 

PAGASA said the tropical depression is slowly moving in a west-northwest direction.
