Man held for child rape

MANILA, Philippines - A 35-year-old man was arrested and charged for allegedly raping his 12-year-old neighbor in Manila Thursday.

Police officers filed charges of statutory rape against Tong Inog with the city prosecutor’s office yesterday.

A neighbor said Inog borrowed money from a relative of the girl to buy rice and liquor at around 5 p.m.The suspect later coaxed the girl to drink with him and another man in his house.

The two men reportedly raped the girl when she got drunk. The second man, who was not identified in the police report, remains at large.
