Woman, 68, shot dead in Malabon

MANILA, Philippines - A 68-year-old woman died and another was wounded in a shooting incident in Malabon on Sunday night.

Police said Milagros Masallo, of Barangay Santulan, was walking along Governor Pascual street in Barangay Catmon when an unidentified assailant fired at her at around 7 p.m.

Masallo died at the scene from gunshots to the body.

Rey Quinrana, who was passing in the area, was hit by a stray bullet, Malabon police chief investigator Senior Police Officer 4 Dennis Javier said.

Probers said they have yet to determine the motive for the gun attack.
