Romanian nabbed for ATM fraud

MANILA, Philippines – Police arrested a 34-year-old Romanian man after he was caught withdrawing money from an automated teller machine (ATM) using a skimming device in Makati City yesterday afternoon.

Iulian Cristian Pintile was nabbed at an ATM kiosk along Salcedo street in Legaspi Village, Senior Inspector Roman Salazar Jr. said.

Salazar said Pintile yielded several ATM cards.

Pintile was detained at the Makati police station.         

A complaint for violation of Republic Act 8484, the Access Devices Regulation Act, will be filed against him.
