MANILA, Philippines – Bulacan posted the highest revenue among provinces last year, according to the Commission on Audit (COA).

The province posted an income of P3.802 billion, dislodging Negros Occidental, which topped the list in 2014.

Negros Occidental was second with P3.582 billion while Rizal was third with P3.318 billion.

They were followed by Cebu, Pangasinan and Cavite, which posted incomes of P3.250 billion, P3.099 billion and P3.080 billion, respectively.

Laguna with P3.031 billion; Quezon, P3.025 billion; Batangas, P2.864 billion, and Nueva Ecija, P2.602 billion complete the top 10 highest earning provinces.

In the municipal level, Cainta in Rizal topped the list with P1.165 billion; followed by General Trias, Cavite with P975 million; Taytay, Rizal with P700 million and Rosario, Cavite with P656 million.

Mariveles, Bataan with P617 million; Rodriguez, Rizal (P593 million); Daan Bantayan, Cebu (P570 million); Sto. Tomas, Batangas (P569 million), Binangonan, Rizal (P552 million) and Silang, Cavite (P541 million) are the other top-earning municipal governments.

The COA report was submitted to President Duterte, Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III and Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez on Sept. 28.
