Pope Francis appoints new Bacolod bishop

MANILA, Philippines – Pope Francis has appointed Kabankalan, Negros Occidental Bishop Patricio Buzon as the new bishop of Bacolod.

Buzon will succeed Bishop Vicente Navarra, who retired at the age of 77 on May 24.

Buzon is a member of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines-Episcopal Commission on Youth and president of the Central Seminary Alumni Association of the University of Sto. Tomas.
