Guia Gomez proclaimed mayor in San Juan City

MANILA, Philippines – Incumbent Mayor Guia Gomez was proclaimed mayor of San Juan City Monday evening.

The Commission on Elections moved for Gomez’s immediate proclamation after she won the mayoralty race with 28,828 votes against rival Francis Zamora who obtained 27,604 votes.

This was Gomez’s third term as San Juan’s mayor. Her running mate, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada’s daughter Janella Ejercito, also won the vice mayoralty race.

Gomez was previously linked to former president Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada to whom she had a son, Sen. JV Ejercito.
