Girl, 7, struck by motorcycle dies

MULANAY, Quezon, Philippines – A seven-year-old girl died after being hit by a motorcycle along the national road in Barangay F. Nañadiego here on Friday afternoon.

Claire Peñaredonda, a resident of Sitio Cangcalao was declared dead on arrival at the Quezon Medical Center in Lucena City, said Senior Inspector San Juan Felmar Aquino, Mulanay police chief.

Initial reports showed Peñaredonda was about to cross the street when a red Motor Star X 125 driven by Angelo Constantino de la Rosa, 41, struck her.

Responding policemen arrested De la Rosa.
