Gunman in Laguna ambush identified

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Police identified yesterday one of two gunmen in the killing of a couple in Los Baños City in this province on Monday.

Authorities have launched a manhunt for the suspect, whose name was withheld to prevent police operations from being compromised.

City police chief Superintendent Romeo Desiderio said they are eyeing drugs and a love triangle as the motives for the killing of Liezel and Merlito Morales.

The Moraleses were found dead in their car parked along the highway in Barangay Bayog.

Police recovered P100,000 in cash from the couple’s car.
