3 held for indiscriminate firing

BATANGAS, Philippines  – Three drunk men landed in jail for allegedly firing a gun in Tanauan City Sunday night.

The arrest of Garciano Nones, 55; Rommel Villanueva, 22, and Michael Sta. Ana, 41, was ordered by Tanauan City Mayor Antonio Halili, who informed the police station about the incident in Sitio Pamayanan, Barangay Darasa.

Halili received information that a group of men was creating trouble while having a drinking session in the area.

Responding police officers heard gunshots as they approached the area. The suspects did not resist arrest and surrendered a 9mm pistol.
