Bomb scare grips UP Baguio anew
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – Another bomb threat disrupted classes at the University of the Philippines-Baguio yesterday morning, two months after a similar incident occurred in the university.
Authorities said the threat was sent through a text message stating that a bomb was planted at the dormitory of the UP campus, prompting the dorm administrator to rush everyone out of the building at around 9:30 a.m.
Students were led outside the campus as explosives and ordnance experts from the Baguio City police scoured the area.
An hour later, authorities declared the threat a hoax, prompting students, faculty members and non-academic personnel to return to the campus.
Authorities said a student or group of students who were not ready for school requirements due today could be behind the threat.
