Chito Miranda joins Elements music camp
MANILA, Philippines - While Parokya ni Edgar’s latest album Middle-aged Juvenile Novelty Pop Rockers is still fresh on music stands and hit charts, the band’s lead vocalist Chito Miranda is preparing to embark on another journey this month. Alongside 23 other Pinoy artists and composers, Chito will be a panelist in the first Elements National Songwriting Camp.
A first of its kind in the business of gathering the country’s finest and most renowned artists with the freshest songwriters of the new generation, Elements is an outdoor learning camp that will be held in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental from Nov. 14 to 18.
Sixty chosen participants get to experience tutelage under the best of the best in the music industry. Listen to the likes of Ryan Cayabyab, Jim Paredes, Joey Ayala and Noel Cabangon talk about their passion for music and the local industry by night and rocking out with OPM idols like Rico Blanco, Yael Yuzon of Spongecola, Gabby Alipe of Urbandub and Chito.
Each of the participating artists will be giving talks on music making, the tricks of the music trade, and a whole lot more. As a whole, the panelists will be working together to make an educational yet entertaining and memorable camp for the participants.
“I’m very excited and flattered to be a part of this, but it’s really intimidating. Siyempre, mga legends na yung kasama ko (I’ll be with the legends). I’m a big fan of Pinoy music and they are my heroes,” says Chito.
During the five-day camp, Chito will talk about the story in every artist’s head and the words that fit the music. The 60 campers will learn about the writing process, creating the right mood for a song, and putting a story together in the span of a few verses from none other than Chito himself. With a track record of eight studio albums, one Christmas album, one compilation album, and a live Inuman Sessions all spawning unforgettable and catchy pop-rock hits, it will be a lecture to remember.
