Calling the Titos & Titas of Subaru

Motoring features are usually about new cars. Beauty competitions, like the recently concluded search for Miss Universe 2017, are often limited to young contestants. It is therefore refreshing that a competition for older, more seasoned vehicles has been launched by Subaru.

Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc. (Motor Image), the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines, is calling all Subaru owners to participate in the Search for the “Most Seasoned Subaru.” 

Why would Subaru want to highlight its older vehicles? Because longevity is proof of superiority. Subaru vehicles are meant to stand the test of time, crafted with the goals of achieving durability and superior quality. 

The requirements to enter the competition are: ownership of a Subaru vehicle; at least 100,000km mileage on the odometer; name registered in OR/CR must match name of candidate submitting an entry; currently registered in LTO/Road Legal; vehicle is in good running condition; vehicle has no aesthetic/exterior physical damage; 100-percent stock with no tolerance on minor modifications.

In evaluating entries, 40 percent weight is given for truthfulness of submitted information, and ??60 percent is given for exterior, interior and running condition.

Aspiring contestants should log on to http://www.subaru.asia/sss to provide all necessary details.  Contestants will receive an acknowledgement e-mail if all requirements are met and received.  Motor Image’s After Sales Department will screen completed entries.

??The search commenced on November 19, 2017 and will last until January 31, 2018. Judging and deliberation will commence from February 1 to 8, 2018.

The winner will be entitled to the following prizes: Authentication Certificate from Motor Image Enterprises; Travel GC worth Php30,000; a half-page Testimonial Advertisement featuring the winner and his Subaru vehicle; and a year’s supply of V Power Racing Fuel from Shell.

The awarding ceremony for the Most Seasoned Subaru will be held by the 2nd week of February 2018.

Recently, a large following is being garnered by a Facebook page that brings together the “Generation X” (people born in the 70s and 80s), also popularly known as the “Titos & Titas of Manila.” In the same being, the Search for the Most Seasoned Subaru celebrates age and longevity.
