A picture frame with a hundred channels
I have often heard it said that a good product’s marketability has to do with the powerful combination of function and appearance.
I did not believe that at first until I went to the mall and took at look at the TV sets that are available on the market.
I moved residence before the pandemic caused a lockdown and I did not have a TV.
I still don’t, because I do plan to move again soon. But I thought about checking out TVs because it is a good piece of furniture for my next home.
Enter the frame
I was told about the Samsung Frame TV that embodies a feature-rich device where function and form blend perfectly.
The Frame is a classy, attention-grabbing TV that deserves a spot in homes that prioritize its look and aesthetic.
Just got framed
I had to take a second look at The Frame because the Korean maker has done a very good job of creating it. Instead of the usual big black rectangle in the living room, The Frame is designed not just to blend in with the home décor; it can even make a dull wall instantly come to life.
For a lifestyle TV, it is chic. When I say it can blend in, it literally can blend in, because of its many features, namely:
Customizable bezels: For a full picture-frame look, The Frame’s bezels can be customized. The freedom to choose the bezel most fitting to your home’s interior design is possible with this TV. Plus, they’re easily installed because the bezels attach magnetically. Samsung offers the following bezel colors to choose from: black, white, brown, and beige.
No-gap wall-mount: The Frame can look like any other frame or painting on the wall, thanks to this feature. The TV’s flushed wall-mount makes it appear that the wall is the most suitable place for it.
OneConnect box: Bid messy wires and cables goodbye with this cabling solution for The Frame.
And the best part is, there’s more that this TV can do.
Masterpieces at home
Before going into the fine details of this TV, here’s where the “art” in The Frame comes in: the Art Mode. This is a rather genius feature that lets a user display paintings from galleries through Samsung’s Art Store. The Frame can “frame” artworks from your favorite artists.
Through the Art Store, a user gets unlimited access to about 1,200 artworks, ranging from classic masterpieces to contemporary art. Name the artist, or the painting, or the gallery, and the Art Store will give it to you.
Paintings, however, are not the only things you can display on Samsung’s The Frame. As it turns out, the TV also allowed me to showcase my fur babies’ picture-perfect photos by connecting my phone to the TV or plugging in a flash drive.
Don’t like the lighting of the photos? The Frame has six varying filters to fix that for you.
As if these functions aren’t enough, The Frame features a brightness sensor and a motion sensor. The brightness sensor determines the brightness and color tone fitting for the surrounding light, while the motion sensor turns on — and off — The Frame’s Art Mode when a person leaves the room.
More than a stylish tv
The Frame does put its appearance first, but it also functions extremely well for a TV. Samsung’s QLED technology in 4K enables The Frame to deliver amazing picture quality.
As a Smart TV, Samsung obviously did not hold back in making sure that The Frame is more than just a stylish television. Apart from the QLED 4K technology, there is the adaptive picture that acts like a brightness sensor for its Art Mode. The Frame detects the surrounding light in a room and automatically adjusts the lighting and contrast to offer great image quality.
I liked that the multi-view allowed me to stream two programs at the same time. Maybe now is the time for me to get a TV? Not a bad idea.
