MANILA, Philippines — Naabot na ng Metro Manila ang United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) standard na 3% posi­tivity rate dahil sa patuloy na pagbaba ng kaso ng COVID-19 sa rehiyon.

Sinabi ni OCTA Research Group Fellow Dr. Guido David, na isang milestone itong maituturing habang una na ring nabasag ng National Capital Region (NCR) ang 5% positivity benchmark ng World Health Organization (WHO).

“It is a milestone and it’s actually even better because in the NCR, the positivity rate has dropped to three percent and although the WHO uses five percent as a benchmark, for the CDC, they actually recommend a 3% positivity rate,” ayon kay David.

“How did we get here? We’re doing more testing now than last year,” dagdag pa niya.

Pero pinag-iingat din ni David ang publiko at binalaan ang gobyerno dahil sa maaaring magkaroon muli ng bagong surge kung hindi pa magbibigay ng ‘booster shots’ ng COVID-19 vaccine.

May mga lugar pa rin naman sa bansa na nasa kritikal na lebel pa na inaasahan na bababa na rin sa mga susunod na araw.
