Sumundo sa mga pasaherong galing China 19 immigration officers, naka-quarantine
MANILA, Philippines — Inihayag ni Bureau of Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente na 19 na immigration officers na sumakay ng barko at sumundo sa mga pasahero na may travel history sa China at sa Special Administrative Regions nito ay inilagay nila sa quarantine bilang preventive measures dahil na rin sa pagkalat ng 2019 novel coronavirus.
Sinabi ni Morente, ang 19 na BI personnels ay sumakay ng limang iba’t ibang cruise ships na may tourist passengers na pumunta sa China, Hong Kong, at Macau at dumating sa bansa sa pagitan ng Enero at Pebrero.
“The 19 immigration officers did not exhibit any symptoms of the virus, and neither did the passengers that they inspected. They were assessed by competent personnel of the Bureau of Quarantine, who were part of the boarding teams that inspect arriving ships. We are doing this as a preventive measure, to ensure that our officers are protected from the virus,” sabi ni Morente.
Tiniyak ni Morente sa mga BI personnel na huwag silang mangamba dahil ang ginagawa nila ay para tulungan at para na rin sa kaligtasan ng publiko.
