Cop collapses, dies in police station

MANILA, Philippines – Probers are investigating the cause of death of a police officer inside a police station in Sta. Mesa, Manila yesterday morning.

S/Sgt. Jeron Jabagat, 31, of Binangonan, Rizal and detailed at the anti-drug enforcement unit of the Manila Police District (MPD) Station 8, was walking out of the kitchen when he suddenly collapsed at around 8:45 a.m.

Police rushed Jabagat to the Lourdes Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Capt. Henry Navarro, chief of the MPD homicide section, said Jabagat bore no external injuries.

Navarro said they were waiting for the results of the autopsy on Jabagat’s remains.

The MPD Finest Brotherhood Association condoled with the family of Jabagat.
