Joy B. nagpasalamat sa endorsement ni Herbert

MANILA, Philippines — Naunawaan na umano ni Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista kung bakit naging  istrikto si Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte sa pagtupad sa kanyang tungkulin.

Ito ay sinabi ni Belmonte makaraang pasalamatan nito si Bautista sa ginawang pag-endorso sa kanya bilang susunod na alkalde sa lungsod.

Sinabi ni Belmonte na ang endorsement ni Bautista ay nagbigay sa kanya ng matinding kasiyahan.

“I was very pleased that when he endorsed me, he said in his speech that, finally, he understands why the vice mayor is very strict. My only objective is to protect him by making sure [the city government complies] with all the requirements and to protect my institution—the sanggunian—to not be perceived as a rubber stamp. He mentioned in his speech that he finally realized that the vice mayor just wanted to protect him,” paliwanag ni  Belmonte.

Binigyang diin ni Belmonte na palagian siyang nagtatanong sa tuwing may mga panukalang batas sa konseho na aaprubahan.

Dahil sa endorsement ni Bautista kay Belmonte, tuluyan nang naglaho ang haka-haka ng ilan na ang dalawa ay may hindi pagkakaunawaan.
