Man slain by house guest
MANILA, Philippines — A man was killed by a friend he allowed to stay in his home while the latter was looking for work in Quezon City Thursday night.
Norberto Ramota, 58, was stabbed dead by his house guest Raul Talangan, 45, in his home on Bojor street in Barangay Pasong Tamo at around 10:30 p.m.
Talangan said in an interview that he was awakened by Ramota with a kick to get him to buy more gin from the store.
He claimed that he blacked out and did not know what he was doing when he stabbed Ramota with the nine-inch kitchen knife.
Probers said Ramota died at the scene after sustaining stab wounds in the chest and body, with the victim’s blood spattering the ceiling due to the force of the blows.
Talangan was immediately apprehended by barangay authorities and turned over to the Talipapa police.
Talangan said he was charged with frustrated homicide in 2016 but the case was dismissed after the respondents failed to show at the hearing.
The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Quezon City police.
