MANILA, Philippines — Soldiers will be able to ride the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) for free starting today, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) announced yesterday.
AFP and LRT-2 officials forged a memorandum of agreement on Dec. 19 last year, said Lt. Col. Emmanuel Garcia, AFP public affairs office chief.
“The MOA stipulates that all active military personnel are entitled to ride the LRT-2 (Santolan-Recto) free of charge upon showing their identification cards as access pass,” Garcia said.
