Cop, motorcycle rider hurt in mishap

MANILA, Philippines — A police officer and a motorcycle rider were injured in a road crash in Barangay Valencia, Quezon City on Monday.

The vehicles involved in the collision were a Ford Ranger pick-up of the San Juan police station and a motorcycle driven by Rolly Bayog Jr., 29, a food server at St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Police Officer 3 Albert Jasareno was in the Ford Ranger along with PO3 Eric Matias and San Juan police chief Senior Superintendent Lawrence Coop when they met the accident at 12:10 a.m.

Superintendent Louise Benjie Tremor, Cubao police station 7 commander, said Bayog was on a motorcycle at the corner of Granada street and Santolan Road when he crashed into the police vehicle.

 The lawmen were on their way back to the police station in Barangay Corazon de Jesus in San Juan from an inspection when the accident happened.

Bayog and Jasareno suffered injuries. They were taken to the San Juan Medical Center for treatment.

Coop and Matias were not hurt.
