MMDA issues flood alerts amid heavy rain

MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) issued flood alerts after heavy rain in Metro Manila.
 
State weather bureau PAGASA issued a heavy rainfall warning at 11:30 a.m. due to the southwest monsoon. It said the thunderstorm affecting Metro Manila, Cavite and Quezon might last for two to three hours.
 
Heavy rain caused flood in the following areas as of 11:30 a.m.:
  • EDSA Gen. Tinio NB/SB (Gutter-deep)
  • EDSA MCU NB (Gutter-deep)
  • Gen. Malvar NB/SB (Gutter-deep)
  • C3 A. Bonifacio Intersection (Gutter-deep)
 
MMDA said that all lanes at the areas above are passable.
