MANILA, Philippines - President Duterte has appointed a comedian and a singer as assistant vice presidents (AVPs) in the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor).

Comedian Arnell Ignacio was named AVP for community relations and services department and Jimmy Bondoc as AVP for entertainment, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said yesterday.

He did not say whether it was “payback time” since the comedian openly campaigned for Duterte.

In his Facebook account, Ignacio said he will try his best not to disappoint the President and the Filipino people. He also vowed to bring the administration closer to the poor by conducting medical and outreach missions for them.
