1 dead, 1 hurt in Caloocan shooting

MANILA, Philippines - A 20-year-old man was killed and a 12-year-old girl wounded in a shooting in Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City Sunday night.

Eli Valdez was drinking liquor with a friend in front of a house on M. de Castro street when two unidentified men shot him shortly before 8 p.m., said Chief Inspector Ilustre Mendoza, Caloocan police investigation chief.

Valdez died at the scene while Angel de Castro, who was walking to a nearby store, was hit by a stray bullet in the leg. 

Mendoza said they have yet to establish a motive for the attack.
