Rob suspect’s body stuffed in box
MANILA, Philippines - The body of a suspected robber and snatcher was found stuffed in a box left under Jones Bridge in Lawton, Manila at past midnight yesterday.
Police Officer 3 Rodel Benitez reported that scavenger Michael Angelo Javier, 17, found a big box wrapped in packaging tape amid a pile of garbage. Hoping that the box contained something he could sell, Javier removed the tape, made a hole in the box and peered inside. He said he saw a human leg covered with tattoos, which indicated the victim may have been a member of the Batang City Jail gang.
Police officers found that the victim was stabbed in the chest and hogtied. His head was also wrapped in packaging tape.
Residents said the victim allegedly preyed on people passing through Lawton.
