UE cited for cleanliness

The University of the East emerged as the second cleanest and greenest private tertiary school in Caloocan City.

The contest was conducted by the Caloocan City Committee on Cleanest and Greenest Public/Private Schools chaired by professor Lilian Pascual, La Consolacion College’s new campus in Caloocan topped the competition among 18 universities and colleges in the city.

Mayor Reynaldo Malonzo awarded the certificate of recognition to officials of UE Caloocan during brief ceremonies at the City Hall.

UE President Josefina Cortes said "the value of cleanliness has long been instilled in the UE community, from faculty members to students to administrative personnel. We keep our environment clean and healthy."

UE is also spearheading a comprehensive urban renewal project in the University Belt (U-Belt) area in Manila that would upgrade infrastructure, raise housing and building standards, maintain the ecological balance, and keep criminality in check in cooperation with the area’s barangay and zone heads.
