Too many bags? Where to leave your luggage while traveling the Philippines
MANILA, Philippines — Traveling is always an interesting and exciting prospect, but not so much when it comes to carrying bags when going around.
As much as people try to pack light, long trips always entail more clothes and large luggage, which need to be hauled or carried in transit.
Leaving luggage at accommodations is the ideal move during the trip, but sometimes flights are several hours before or after check-in and check-out times.
Fortunately, though, there are logistical options to leave one's bags around the Philippines to explore the country ahead of late or right after early flights.
Bag drops
Bounce is like a personal storage facility that can be booked online and the global luggage storage network and app operates all over the Philippines.
Items can be stored in a location of a user's choosing for hours or even days. Any kind of bag or items — even bulky or oddly-shaped ones — can be stored in Bounce locations, although smaller bags will cost less.
Bounce can be found in Metro Manila, Cebu, Bohol, Bulacan, Baguio, Zambales, Palawan, Davao, and Zamboanga, with some of these branches operating 24/7.
Radical Storage and LuggageHero have similar operations, but are only located in Manila, Makati, Pasay, and Cebu.
Loc&Stor 24/7
The largest self-storage company in the Philippines just opened a new facility in Newport City, bringing its branch count to six — joining Balintawak, Sucat, Pasig along C5, and two locations in Makati.
The company offers nine different units ranging from the size of a closet to a full sea shipping container. Loc&Stor 24/7 also accepts four sizes of luggage for at least a day.
Loc&Stor 24/7's new branch in Newport also serves nearby residents and businesses who want extra space to store furniture, seasonal decorations, keepsakes, equipment, documents, appliances, and other items.
Airport
That's right, some of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminals have areas to store luggage for a fee.
There aren't any locations inside Terminal 2 but in Terminal 1, there is Orbit Air Systems for arriving passengers.
Terminal 3 has options, such as Luggage & More, ideal for same-day storage and layovers. Wings Transit Hotel and Spa is another option where travelers can even book a shower. Outside of Terminal 3 is Dropnfly, which best services long-term storage.
For travelers wanting to go around Mall of Asia, the Philippines' largest mall by some margin, luggage can be left in IKEA or Kultura but only during mall hours.
