WATCH: James Reid recommends 3 summer adventures to try
MANILA, Philippines — James Reid and Nadine Lustre have been known for their sexy beach photos, but are they always into sun, sea and sand?
As it turns out, the celebrity couple is not only into beach bumming.
In a recent interview with Philstar.com, James revealed which adventures among the many he had that he could recommend to those looking for something new to try this summer.
Hiking in Benguet
“I would recommend hiking (as) number one,” he said, because “there (are) so many places you can go” for hiking.
“A personal favorite of mine (are) Baguio, Benguet,” he shared.
“Benguet is one of his most favorite places!”
A landlocked province in northern Luzon, Benguet, and its only city, Baguio, boast of cool mountainous terrains, caves and indigenous tribe settlements.
Surfing in Siargao
“Two, Siargao, for the surfing. There’s so much to explore there,” espoused James.
Though best known as the Philippines’ “surfing capital,” Siargao in Surigao del Norte, Mindanao, is also internationally renowned as a snorkeling and diving hotspot for its offshore islands, coral reefs, sand bars, and mangrove forest, which is reportedly the biggest in Mindanao.
Exploring Japan
“Three, if budget’s not a problem, I say, go to Japan,” enthused James.
“Tokyo is a crazy adventure!”
James has been recently named as the new ambassador of footwear brand Merrell. As featured in the brand’s "Let’s Getaway" campaign with James, the brand's new Choprock shoes sports a sleek outdoor silhouette rendered in colors that make it versatile from city to sea.
The singer-actor, whose summer wardrobe essentials are T-shirt, jeans, flip-flops and sunglasses, has the following summer style tips:
1. One of his go-to’s is layering. Layering marries form and function and allows James to include staples that he likes to wear in the city and when on trips and getaways.
2. For everyday essentials, James relies on a lot of black, white and denim. Key pieces which bring him easily to outdoor activities include tracksuits, floral shirts, board shorts, and lightweight jackets. Most important in transitioning with ease from urban style to outdoor though is a pair of shoes that can keep up and look great in both settings.
3. Accessorize. James is keen on baseball caps, bandanas, neckwear, socks, all of which offer style points and practical use in and out of the city.
