DOT, Instagram's hottest male traveler team up to promote tourism

MANILA, Philippines - Globetrotting hunk Jeremy Jauncey is in the Philippines, for a good cause.

Jauncey, the brains behind the company Beautiful Destinations is currently working with the Philippines's Department of Tourism (DOT) to promote some of its top destinations.

These include Cebu, Bohol, Palawan, Manila and Pangasinan. In a press release, DOT announced that their partnership with the social media agency will bring a boost to the tourism industry in the country.

From May 11 to 24, Jauncey, together with his Beautiful Destinations's team will promote the beautiful spots by posting photos and videos of their adventure in the Philippines using their social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat) which have more than 10 million followers around the world, as well as the DOT accounts.

Spent the morning with these guys in Oslob We took a little boat out at day break to feed and swim with these amazing creatures, at one point 3 were circling the boat and we were able to shoot some amazing content. It's so important to respect their habitat, not touch them, stay 4 metres away, not use flash photography or even wear sunscreen that might upset the balance of the ocean that these guys live in. Easily one of the greatest experiences of my life and all made possible by the epic teams @tourismphl and @aquatech_imagingsolutions and of course the legend @jacob for capturing the shot!

DOT Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. noted how big social media is in the Philippines and how it has helped the It’s More Fun in the Philippines campaign. In addition, he said that reaching out to audience in a platform that is widely used such as social media is a big step towards making the country's presence more felt.

“As the social media landscape continues to develop at a rapid pace, we have to adapt to changing times in order to stay ahead of the curve. Collaborating with Beautiful Destinations, which has already set the global standard for creating social content, is surely an effective way to make our country’s presence in the digital space more felt by travelers who are highly reliant on social media,”  he said in a press release.
