PIA goes to Batangas

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine-Italian Association (PIA) recently held its third general membership gathering in Batangas, organized by Travel Excellence Corp. chaired by Chit Montenegro (PIA director) and co-chaired by Menchie Gregorio (PIA member). The whole-day affair included visits to historical and cultural sites led by Archbishop Ramon Arguelles of Lipa, Batangas, in celebration of the centennial year of the Archdiocese of Lipa. The group also paid a visit to Casa de Segunda Katigbak, an ancestral home which was declared by the National Historical Commission a heritage house for having harbored generations of artists, poets and persons of learning and distinction. Lunch was hosted by the family of Tani Tankiang (PIA member) at Punta Fuego and dinner by Archbishop Arguelles at the Archbishop’s Residence. The fourth and last PIA-GMG this year will be the PIA Christmas party which will be held at Peninsula’s The Conservatory tomorrow.
