How the APEC ladies brought home a piece of Filipino creativity

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - When Mariel Tolentino put together a bazaar that would showcase the best of Filipino creativity, she told the sellers: “We are selecting best with no assurance of sales, because there be little time for the APEC ladies to shop. I asked Cedie Vargas of MaArte Fair to help me with the selection, while Tina Ocampo and Eric Paras helped design the displays. Cedie brought in Dannie Alvarez of Yuchengco Museum Foundation and his assistant Elma Abrina, who took care of logistics and coordinating with the Bureau of Treasury. Each seller said it was an honor to be there for love of country in such a small way.”

The sellers were Bea Valdes, Len Cabili, Anne Marie Saguil, Jose Ramon Olives, Rambie Lim, Natalya Lagdameo, Sitti Ong Go, Al Valenciano, Art Post Asia, Ian Giron, Bernadette Caliwara and Tina Ocampo. Consignors were Juvenal Fernandez, Pacific Traders, Ann Pamintuan, E. Murio and Eric Paras.
