MANILA, Philippines — With Metro Manila traffic becoming heavier due to the upcoming Lenten season wherein many are expected to travel to provinces, celebrities Maine Mendoza, Drew Arellano and Nico Bolzico recently shared solutions on what everyone can do to ease traffic jams.

During a recent press conference launching Maine, Drew and Nico as Shell Fuels endorsers, the three explained what every individual, and not just the government, could do to loosen up traffic on the road.
If she would have a choice, Maine said she would not leave the house.

“I feel that we can lessen the problem by not leaving the house anymore, ‘no?” Drew seconded Maine.

“But you work two hours lang, and then you leave na, and go out of town!”

The “Biyahe ni Drew” host also recommended centralizing public transportation so commuters “don’t have to wait to fill up anymore the busses, the jeepneys.”

“Be a passive driver, don’t be aggressive,” stressed Maine, who unwinds by “driving without a destination.”

“Just follow the rules. Kasi for me, what else can we do with the traffic in Manila but to endure, ‘di ba?” the lady driver pointed out.

The host of the "Kalyeserye" segment of "Eat Bulaga!" advised drivers to be always pleasant on the road.

"Isa sa mga pet peeve ko talaga 'yung mga drivers aggressive sa road!" she said.

“The right infrastructure is being put in place right now,” said Nico, husband of actress Solenn Heussaff. “And I do think in the coming years, we’re gonna have a lot of improvement on that.” — Videos by Kat Leandicho
