Naga City mayor issues dress code memo for Valentine's Day

Naga City Mayor John Bongat's dress code policy earned praises from netizens.

MANILA, Philippines — Naga City Mayor John Bongat on Tuesday issued memorandum circular ordering City Hall employees to wear color-coded dresses in view of the Valentine ’s Day on Wednesday.

“SINCE IT'S VALENTINE'S DAY TOMORROW, I issued this directive to my co-employees in City Hall,” Bongat wrote in his Facebook announcement.

Bongat said the employees are encouraged to wear color based on their status.

Below appears the dress code and the corresponding statuses:

Red – Taken

Black – Taken for granted

Pink – Strike everywhere

Green – Solo for life

White – Like a Virgin 

 Brown – Pusong Bato (Hardhearted)

Gray – Tuliro / Namumungnan (Confused)

Blue – An pandagat ko, may pandagat man (The person I love, is in love with another person)

Yellow – Waiting since birth

Orange – Beaten somebody

Polka dots – Has been beaten

Stripes – low bat

Bongat’s dress code policy earned praises from netizens. Ifugao Rep. also said the memorandum was funny.
