Filinvest City sparkles this Christmas

Filinvest City sparkles this Christmas

The 40-foot 3D-mapped giant Christmas tree features visuals that represent what Christmas means to us.

There’s a new Christmas attraction in Alabang that not only lights up the streets, but also people’s faces as they look at the glittering spectacle before them.

Mesmerized, the onlookers happily watch as the lights shift from red to blue to green in a flirty, joyous dance.

Welcome to the Spectrum Linear Park, a one-kilometer park in Filinvest City Alabang, that transforms into a Christmas Wonderland come nighttime.

“It’s Filinvest’s way of bringing Christmas to the community that has supported us in the past years,” said Michael Edward Gotianun, VP, Filinvest Development Corp. “We at Filinvest City make it a point to go back to our main objective, which is inspiring possibilities — creating a unique development that would promote unity and happiness among its residents and the entire community.”

Sparkle of Christmas

Filinvest City’s Christmas tradition of lighting up the streets started in 2012. It was nothing fancy, just a well-lit Christmas tree. A year later, they introduced a light show.

This year, the city literally sparkles as it adorns more streets with lights. And to make the season even brighter, Filinvest City also enjoined its building locators to participate in its first Building Christmas decor contest where the winners — Levels Building, first prize; 2301 Civic Place, second prize; and Levels Building, first prize — received generous prizes.

The Asian Star Building decked the walls of its parking building with colorful stars as though it were an extension of the night sky. The glass lobby wall is also decked with lights and sparkling parol. It’s understated but beautifully made.

From afar, it appears innocuous enough, but when you get to the front entrance where the architecture lends itself to the design, there’s definitely a white Christmas going on at 2301 Civic Place.

First prize winner, Levels Building, went all out in its decorations. From afar, you can already see the Christmas lights on top of the signage, but as soon as you enter the building, you’re in for more surprises. There’s Santa’s sled and his reindeer, a giant Christmas sock, lamp posts strung with colorful lights that look like giant candy canes, and giant gift boxes.

“Christmas at Filinvest City is a community celebration,” enthused Kate Ilagan, executive vice president, Filinvest Alabang Inc., developer of Filinvest City. “We are opening more spaces where people can converge and enjoy the holiday sights and sounds with the garden city as the backdrop.”

Come night fall, people can gather around the 40-foot 3D-mapped giant Christmas tree, the major highlight of the “Sparkle of Christmas at Filinvest City,” which features visuals that represent what Christmas means to us. This unique visual treat is sure to delight, excite and leave viewers in absolute awe.

Live performances by the country’s top bands are held every Saturday, until Dec. 31. Featured performers are Spongecola, Ebe Dancel, Sandwich, and many more.

A grand fireworks display will be held every Sunday, until Dec. 31.

To the market, to the market!

Another highlight of the “Sparkle of Christmas at Filinvest City” is the Festino Market, a weekend bazaar that brings together passionate artisans, curated merchants and talented, up-and-coming chefs who source, grow, bake, make and create the products and wares that they sell.

One can also take part in the arts and crafts workshop sessions. Also, check out the Festino Cafe pop-up coffee experience where you can savor third-wave brews, as well as the automatic trunk show and test-drive showcasing the iconic Mini, the sporty Lotus, and endearing Vespa.

“We, at Filinvest City, have always been about transforming the lives here in the Metro South,” added Ilagan. “We are delighted that the Annual Christmas Musical Lights Show has become part of the holiday celebrations, not just of those in Alabang, but of people in neighboring locales as well. This is what inspires us to improve this tradition that we have started year after year.”
