What’s on the Menu for Father’s Day?: Flavors of Montaditos for Father’s Day at Casa Armas

MANILA, Philippines - Casa Armas offers its flavors of Montaditos for Father’s Day.   If dad likes fish and vegetables there is the montadito berenjenas con setas (grilled eggplant with mushroom) and escalivada de anchoa (grilled pimiento with anchovy); for seafood loving dads, montadito de gamba (shrimp, olives and fresh tomato slice with a creamy dressing), montadito de cangrejos (minced crab legs tossed in a creamy corn dressing topped with pickle and shrimp), and montadito de salmon (smoked salmon) are available. For the meat-lovers there are the montadito de jamon tropicale (jamon Serrano topped with slices of fresh kiwi and orange to balance the saltiness of the cured meat or ham) or montadito de croqueta con jamon o pollo (choice of chicken or ham croquette).  Montaditos can be ordered by piece, P90+, or in sampler plates. For the main course, Casa Armas offers two main dishes:  Solomillo con compota de cebollas (tenderloin with caramelized onions on a bed of sliced potato) and pescado con compota de berenjenas y tomate (cobbler fish with eggplant and caramelize fresh tomato).  The meal comes with a free glass of Spanish wine at P695+.

P399 meal special at Oceana

Oceana, the restaurant-bar, culinary school and events place  at the SM Mall of Asia offers its “Wine and Dine: A Father’s Day Special”  for only P399+ per person.   Start with an appetizer of mini-bacon quiche, followed with a choice of either mixed green salad with pomelo bits, potato salad or macaroni salad. Soup choices are cream of pumpkin or cream of mushroom with asparagus. For main course choices are pan-fried fish fillet with pesto sauce, sweet honey-glazed chicken with roasted nuts, richly savory pork asado or succulently satisfying beef slices topped with cheesy bernaise sauce. The main course is served with a choice of fettuccine carbonara or steamed rice with pandan leaves. Desserts are sliced fresh fruits with Mint Syrup or a Selection of sliced cakes and pastries.

“Oceana’s Wine and Dine: A Father’s Day Special” is available for lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner, from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
