Home sweet hotel in Eastwood

MANILA, Philippines - In the bustling city of Eastwood, Libis, one hotel stands out not because it is trying to be fancier than most but simply because it prides itself on providing a charming home for its guests. To many, Hotel 878 is an urban oasis, a true home away from home where even the staff becomes an extended family.

“Our hotel is simply called Hotel 878 because our address is 878 E. Rodriguez Jr. Avenue,” says Ma. Isabel Golamco, Hotel 878 chief financial officer.

878 is a very auspicious number among the Chinese and hence, it was decided it was best to name the hotel after its own address.

Hotel 878 has only been around since January 2010, but already, it has attracted a horde of regulars who has opted to make the hotel their home in the metro. Fact is, long-staying guests here are so common that Hotel 878 is offering long-staying rates for those staying a minimum of one week.

Hotel 878 boasts 71 tastefully decorated guestrooms, composed of deluxe rooms, two-level lofts, and a one-bedroom suite. My personal favorite here is the loft, a bi-level room with ample space to relax and even do some work when you feel like it. It is a 38-square-meter room that comes with a daybed, mini bar, and a work/dining table.

As far as services go, Hotel 878 provides free Wi-Fi in all of its rooms. There are also laundry service, tours & transport assistance, 24-hour guest service, nightly turndown service as well as 24-hour security.

Hotel 878 also comes complete with a coffee shop, business center facilities, safety deposit boxes, function rooms, and covered parking.

Café 878, the hotel’s signature coffee shop, is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., serving up a medley of comfort foods which guests can also order through room service.

Meanwhile, for total relaxation, book an in-room massage service from the Hotel 878’s spa to ease out the stress from your body.

And with the merriest  and probably “marryest”  season of all just around the proverbial corner, it’s nice to know that Hotel 878 also offers a range of pre-wedding packages that couples can enjoy. There’s the Before “I Do” package, which comes with an overnight stay for two at Hotel 878’s one-bedroom suite at P8,900 net while the Glowing Bride package comes with an overnight package for two at the hotel’s loft room at P8,100 net. Both packages come with complimentary breakfast, a function room photo shoot or bridal entourage makeup, a sandwich platter good for 10 persons, welcome flowers in the room, a complimentary gift for the bride, a 10-percent discount on extra room night stay, and an extra person rate of P700 net with breakfast.

Surely, at Hotel 878, guests are never too far away from home.
