Protect your eyes from tremendous sunlight, heat and UV rays while playing golf with a pair of Revo sunglasses.
When the sun gets in your eyes

Nothing beats being outside, whether it's just hiking, enjoying the great outdoors or playing golf where you get to de-stress and also get a decent workout.

But it’s important to make sure that your eyes are protected.

I didn’t fully realize this until one time when I decided to play a round with friends. Without wearing sunglasses, my eyes felt sore, irritated and just plain uncomfortable, owing to the tremendous sunlight, heat and UV rays bearing down on me.

Recently, I tried a pair of Revo sunglasses recommended to me by my colleague Dominic Uy. He told me about Shalimar and he said it would greatly increase my comfort on the course, thus making my round more enjoyable.

He was absolutely right!

The round went smoothly, without mentioning my score, of course. My eyes were so relaxed during and even after the game.

I then inquired a little bit more about Shalimar and I was given a brief on its history.

The company began in 1972 and in 1979 they initiated the accelerated development of progressive glasses. In 1984, they launched their brand of progressive lenses. Three years later, they were marketing services to other lens manufacturers and launched the first set of molds for progressive lens casting.

In 2001, through its partnership with Eyal Optical Industry, they became a manufacturer of high-quality plastic lenses.

By year 2005, the company went public with an IPO on the NASDAQ global market. They continued to focus on sales and marketing for RX products in 2010. The following year, they merged with Essilor as the company bought 50 percent of Shamir.

In 2015, they penetrated the safety eyewear market, providing complete eye protection solutions for work and sport environments.

They’ve continued to make more improvements through the years, now with their lenses being adapted for wrap frames and large frames, too.

What interested me the most was the Attitude III Sport, which promises a wide distortion-free peripheral safety zone built in, that allows a natural view of any objects in your path. It’s actually the softest design you will find in a sun lens.

If you’re not into sports, they have the Attitude III Fashion, which give the wearer a clear distance, wide intermediate and comfortable wide reading area when needed, but also an expanded peripheral vision that’s perfect for just hanging outat the pool or beach, driving around, and just walking outside.

For the all the par busters, you’ll be happy to note that their golf-specific lenses will provide a more comfortable experience compared to the conventional progressive lenses. It will give you sharp viewing in all three crucial focal areas: the far distant green, the ball at your feet and the scorecard in your hand. You will also have enhanced peripheral vision because it’s designed for wrap around frames with UV and blue light protection, and with extra protection materials.

Of course, all the built-in technology Shamir is well known for is already included, like the Eye-Point Technology III, which improves viewing experience regardless of prescription or choice of frame; Natural Posture, for increased comfort, allowing for a natural near viewing posture; IntelliCorridor, which provides an optimal power profile specifically for sports and fashion; and As-Worn Quadro, which ensures complete viewing comfort for any frame shape.

So you can head outside and be completely safe and certain that you get the full benefits that you expect from the great outdoors.

Golf soon?
