MANILA, Philippines —  From the gym to the delivery room, Kapuso host Iya Villania has given birth to her second child with husband Drew Arellano in style.

Iya documented how she delivered her baby on Sunday straight after working out.

On the first Instagram story, Iya posted a video of her working out with the text “#WaitingForLeon Decided to workout at hometoday should my water break.” Five hours later, she posted a video of her already lying in the hospital room and captioned it “Passing time…”

On her next IG story, she posted a video of Drew sitting in the sofa. The post said: “Contractions are really starting to kick in. Pain is now moving towards his lower back and pwet. #ButiPaSya.”
At 9:44 am, she posted another story with the caption “Done!!!” and in the next stories, she showed Drew eating, her birthing team, and the photo of her new son, Alonzo Leon.

Netizens were amazed at how Iya was able to post her journey from the gym to the delivery room.

She posted another IG story focusing on her face while giving birth and captioned it: “For those who thought I had it easy… Does it look like it here?”

On the next story, she showed her son and said: “But I’ll do anything for this little man.”

In an interview with Philstar.com prior to giving birth, Iya said she was having a smooth pregnancy, thanks to continuous physical activity.

“It was relatively easy for me to carry him (Leon), to play with him, basta sobra siyang nakakatuwa. I think it even made my pregnancy happy this time around because of the happiness Primo has been giving,” she said.

Likewise, she believes that physical activity through creative play is critical in children’s overall development. Thus, Iya was recently launched as new brand ambassador for children’s concept store Warble, which recently opened its first branch at the fourth floor of Shangri-la Plaza East Wing. The brand offers a selection of children’s furniture and equipment, such as foldaway mats, convertible chairs, doll houses, strollers and car seats specifically designed to integrate play with everyday living.

Iya said that kids deserve not only to have their own room, but their own place in the house.

“I guess it’s quite important for kids to have their own room so they have a sense of their area, their space where their things belong,” she said.

She advised parents to make kids’ rooms simple and to not put distractions.

“Keep it as simply as you can. Try not to put distractions and try to make it a safe environment for your child, so you can allow them to explore and discover things on their own without having thoughts na masasaktan sila,” Iya said.
