MANILA, Philippines — Cannot run or exercise outside due to heavy rains?

Celebrity fitness coaches Jim and Toni Saret recommend trampoline as an inexpensive workout everyone in the family can enjoy.

Trampoline, said Coach Jim, helps in toning and building a stronger immune system to prevent cancer. It is also an effective way to lose weight, added Coach Toni.

“A small trampoline is okay, but the bigger the trampoline, the better,” advised Coach Jim.

For safety and to prevent injuries while jumping on the trampoline, the husband-and-wife fitness gurus gave the following tips:

1. Consult your doctor first if you are physically fit to do the trampoline and ask the frequency and time limit of doing it.

2. Put your trampoline on a grass or a soft surface, never on hard surface like cement, to lessen the pressure on your joints.

3. Make sure your knees are strong enough before you jump.

4. If wearing shoes while on the trampoline, choose those that provide good support.

“Sometimes, shoes are made for the looks. But for serious people like runners, they are after the performance and the science behind the shoe. What attracted me to the Under Armour Hovr is that the technology is at par with the top shoes now... It looks great, it has the right design, right fit and right cushioning… It’s both for lifestyle and for performance,” Coach Jim enthused.

5. Anyone from as early as one year old can do the trampoline, as long as the kids are supervised.
