How Chris Tiu stays strong for his games

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -  Professional PBA player Chris Tiu is nothing short of a human dynamo  he is a hard court hero, businessman, public servant, and TV presenter all rolled into one neat package. These achievements and his admirable outlook in life were made possible through the nurturing of one of his staunchest supporters his mom Lianne. Chris and Lianne are Poten-Cee’s new brand ambassadors.

Lianne says that his on-the-go attitude is something that Chris developed in his childhood. He has been playing basketball since grade school, on top of bringing home good marks from school, and enjoying other extracurricular activities.  It is certainly with parental pride that Lianne talks about Chris. “He is a very good son, one any mother can really be proud of! He is obedient, kind, and hard-working.” To which the good son jokes, “You’re saying that because I am here!”

Mom says Chris was also quite adventurous. “He also liked to climb up walls so much that we gave him a Spiderman costume.”

With his boundless energy, sports was a natural choice for Chris, and his enthusiasm likely stemmed from the fact that Lianne was also quite an athlete during her school days. “I was into basketball, and I even played against the Philippine Team! I also enjoyed horseback riding and swimming. I was invited to join the St. Scholastica College’s basketball varsity team, but I wanted to focus on my studies.” At this point, Chris proudly announced that his mom graduated with magna cum laude honors. “I think sports helped me develop the discipline that I needed to succeed,” she adds.

With all the hats that he wears, Chris makes sure that he is always in good health in order to keep up with his commitments. He believes in the power of Vitamin C as protection from illness. “My last three months have been incredibly chaotic — I had shoots for ads, recordings for radio, taping for iBilib and my segment at AKTV for basketball tutorials, the Happy Lemon business, and a lot of invitations to speak in schools. I juggled all these, plus my daily basketball training and the games. Pag uwi ko, lagi akong pagod. But I didn’t get sick because I was protected by Poten-Cee.”

Chris adds,  “I used other brands before, but I became acidic. I prefer Poten-Cee Forte with its time-release formula because it makes it easier for my body to absorb my daily dose of 1,000 mg. If I don’t get enough Vitamin C, babagsak ang system ko. If I do not take care of myself, I get cough, colds, and a sore throat.”
