MANILA, Philippines — Good nutrition is crucial for good health, especially if we want to keep our immune system strong to fight diseases. This has not been any more relevant today.

Although food safety and health authorities say there is currently no evidence that the coronavirus can be spread through contact with food and food packaging, proper food preparation is still vital.

In the kitchens of Herald Suites, safe food practices are observed daily.

Additional proactive measures to protect everyone involved, from preparation to delivery of meals, are strictly put in place.

As the hotel's food safety headquarters, the kitchens are central in handling and unpacking fresh produce and store-bought ingredients, as well as storage, preparation and delivery of its packed meals, takeout orders and limited dine-in orders for guests and other customers.

Standard hygiene procedures for kitchen staff and suppliers that were in place before the pandemic have now been upgraded with mandated compliances for all.

Aside from the menus in the hotel's regular food and beverage outlets like Coca Cafe, Café Mondo, Aurora Lobby Cafe and Hatsu Hana Tei Japanese restaurant, special packed meals are prepared daily for in-house guests.

These packed meals are based on a menu cycle creatively put together following the nutrition template of the right mix of grains, vegetables, protein, fruits and dairy. These are simple, tasty and above all nutritious, and more importantly, in clean, disposable single-use containers and utensils.

These are just some of the many ways Herald Suites puts heart into service even in these trying times.
